Jeff and Mary

It was amazing to spend a weekend in New Orleans, photographing Jeff and Mary's wedding. It was clear to anyone who saw the couple that there was something deeply special between them. Words can't describe it, photographs don't do it justice. I'm just honored I was there to be a part of the celebration. Here's a small teaser.

Hiatus

It has been way too long since I have posted images. I find myself with a little more time and a renewed inclination to share. While I am processing images made from a recent trip to Taiwan, here is a little something from the coastline of the Pacific NW to tide you over. The disposable rain cover I carry in my gear bag saved the day. My camera stayed dry. I got wet. Drops of rain dripping down my face while the piece of land beneath my feet spun rapidly away from the light of the sun.

Pedernales

Made this at Pedernales Falls State Park this Thanksgiving weekend. A thank you to my friend Anna, who left the warmth of the campfire to hike in the cold and dark, and helped me with a bit of light painting to illuminate the stand of trees.

Stroke My Ego

I usually don't like to brag, but I'm going to take a second to crow. I use to have some solid retouch chops, thanks to my professor Carolyn Coffey at ACC. I wonder if I could still operate on this level.

Samos

A little drunk from the island's signature sweet white, I wandered the streets alone after everyone else had retired, determined to see the dawn. I discovered three friends drinking and laughing, the sound of their merriment the only noise to break the deathly calm of the sleeping town. One of the guys eyed my camera gear and inquired about my intentions. He rolled me a cigarette when I asked. This is what I wanted to photograph. Life pulsating and unrepentant. In my shyness, I instead thanked them for the smoke, and found a quiet piece of land next to the sea where I made this long exposure of two ships docked, and enjoyed the peace of solitude until the sun rose.
